ASD-EAST visits School No 12 in Krakow

On 26 September 2018, twelve ASD-EAST partners from Croatia, Republic of North Macedonia and the UK visited the facilities of the school Szkoła Podstawowa z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr 12., one of the Polish partners of the project. The visit took place the day after to the kickoff meeting of the project, hosted by the Pedagogical University of Krakow.

The school comprises a primary school with sixteen classes (350 students) – nine of these classes are inclusive; and a junior high school for 200 students in thirteen classes, eleven of which are inclusive.

After an initial meeting with Magdalena Mamczura, who teaches English at the school, ASD-EAST partners were shown around the setting by Izabella Galon and Halina Firlit. They were all impressed by the commitment of staff in the school to making inclusion work, and the extremely positive atmosphere that we felt throughout the school.

Prof. David Preece, project coordinator from the University of Northampton (UK): “This was a great way of concluding our first Transnational Project Meeting in Krakow. We look forward to getting to know our Polish colleagues better, and learning from their practice”.
